Rono Figueiredo was born in Salvador-BA in 1978, studies Fine Arts at Universidade Federal da Bahia and has already shown his work in several collective exhibitions in town and one in London. "As faces de Maria" is the artist´s first solo in which he uses vibrant colors to recreate feminine images. His "Marias" are inspired by women from African tribes with their long necks and mysterious eyes.
