St. Laurent International Fine Arts is seeking new representation, especially any foreign artists, for both our exclusive on-line website and our series of major exhibitions along the Northeast seaboard. Every two years we pick an Artist Abroad who becomes the primary focus for a major tour at the end of their term.

The current Dutch Artist Abroad is Sylvia van de Water who paints in the style of 18th & 19th century artists. Several events are being planned now, a month long Nautical show in Westport, Rhode Island in August and a second Show in October in upstate New York or in the Berkshires. Sylvia's grand opening Exhibition in the US will be held in July of 2010. Starting August 2010 the new Artist Abroad will be chosen.

To be considered, please send at least 20 images of recent work ( no more than 3 years old) on a high resolution disc or 20 digital images with high pixel resolution, along with any background materials, price list and shows entered, where you have studied and any important collectors to date, e.g., a bank, or library or corporation. Not much weight is given to number of exhibitions or lack of formal studies, as is given to the merit of the work itself. That is old convential art practice that doesn't do anthing for the art itself, except to create more snobbery than we have room for.

We are only accepting paintings, any medium on canvas, linen, board or wood and bronze-cast sculpture, Sorry, no assemblages, or mixed media, experimental art, photography or clay or metal sculptures at this time. ALL ART WORK SENT MUST BE SHIPPED PROFESSIONALLY FRAMED, NO WRAPPED FRAMING WILL BE CONSIDERED. CALL FOR ENTRIES CLOSES SEPTEMBER 15, 2009. If you have any questions or concerns, please donn't hsitate to e-mail or call us. We will be more than glad to speak with you about thr process or any other question you might have. Thank you, Lawrence Elliott
